Van Gogh & Pixar: Lessons for Curriculum & Technology Integration

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

“We have to meet them where they are.” We think of this phrase as it applies to students, but tend to forget that it applies also to adults. High probability technology transformation results from small steps, especially for adults adopting new technologies. Transformative work is often a combination of individual ingenuity and social influence. What lessons do Pixar and Van Gogh have for integrating technology into the curriculum? This activity-driven workshop, intended for C&I and technology leaders, is introduced by inquiry and ends with a challenge to take back to your district. It begins with the making of two films, one about Van Gogh and another from Pixar. On Wednesday, you can choose to continue this learning journey in a post-conference with a visit to the most comprehensive Van Gogh exhibit in decades at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts.

In this session, you will learn:

The transformation steps of social trust, proof and transmission.
The importance of imitating and improvising from a model.
Planning for failure through small steps, measurement and frequent feedback.
School case studies of success and failure integrating technology.
